Burnham, ‘clear that Russia interfered with Brexit vote’

12 Ottobre 2026

(Adnkronos) – Andy Burnham has stated that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum and warned that similar interferences are taking place in France and Germany. The British Prime Minister told ‘The Rest is Politics’ podcast that, upon his arrival at 10 Downing Street, he had inquired about possible Russian interference in the 2016 elections, adding: “I received a clear answer: yes, there was.” “I believe that in reality we have been too cautious on this front and have not sufficiently informed people about the extent to which there are people trying to disrupt the political process from abroad,” added the Prime Minister, without providing further details on the type or scope of Moscow’s activity during the Brexit referendum.
