Naha, Okinawa Pref., Oct. 10 (Jiji Press)–Four Chinese coast guard ships temporarily sailed in Japanese waters off the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture, southern Japan, on Saturday afternoon, according to the Japan Coast Guard. It was the first time since Sept. 10 for a Chinese official ship to enter the Japanese waters around the East China Sea islands. The four Haijing ships crossed into the waters at points north-northwest of Uotsurijima, one of the islands, between around 4:05 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., according to the Japan Coast Guard’s 11th regional headquarters in Naha, the capital of Okinawa. They left the waters by around 6 p.m. The Japanese-administered islands are claimed by China. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
