The Russian health agency, Rospotrebnadzor, denied the news circulated in recent hours. “In relation to false information appearing on social networks regarding the second case of the disease in a person who was in contact with an employee of the Irkutsk Institute…Rospotrebnadzor reports that this information is not true,” the statement said.
The department noted that all contacts have completed medical supervision. No health problems associated with infectious pathologies have emerged, the results of nearly 5,000 laboratory tests have not detected dangerous pathogenic microorganisms, it concludes.
