(Adnkronos) – French student protests are also extending beyond the border, reaching Belgium, particularly Brussels and Liege. This is reported by the Guardian, citing Reuters and broadcaster Rtbf. In Liege, local media reported over 200 arrests in connection with the student protests, and authorities have imposed a ban on public gatherings of more than three people until October 16.
Belgian Foreign Minister, Bernard Quintin, stated that far-left activists have infiltrated the school protests in Liege and are causing property damage. Julien Doeche, a member of the city’s Anti-Fascist Front, told Rtbf that Quintin’s claims are “fanciful”.
