USA, White House excludes Politico from Trump’s Nebraska trip

6 Ottobre 2026

(Adnkronos) – The White House has excluded Politico from the pool of journalists authorized to travel aboard Air Force One with President Donald Trump, headed to Nebraska for an election rally. According to Nbc News, the decision comes after a similar measure adopted the previous week against CNN. “Many outlets, including Politico, are unilaterally granted access to presidential events to follow and report on them, but traveling with the president aboard Air Force One is a privilege, not a right,” a White House official said. Politico was supposed to represent the print media following the president yesterday, but the White House failed to find an outlet to replace it.

The measure is the latest chapter in the clash between the Trump administration and some news outlets – particularly Politico, CNN, and Ms Now – accused of spreading “fake news” and banned from accessing the presidential complex. A federal judge had ordered their accreditations temporarily reinstated, but the order only concerned access to the White House and not presidential travel. The three outlets sued the administration, and after CNN’s exclusion from presidential events, Fox News, ABC News, CBS News, and NBC News had given up their turns in the pool in solidarity.
