(Adnkronos) – The Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), which at the end of April had taken control of the strategic locality of Kidal, in northern Mali, announced on Tuesday a “strategic withdrawal” of forces in the face of Army operations to regain control of this northern Malian city. “Given the increasing risks to the few civilians still present in the city due to the disproportionate use of aerial vectors by Russian mercenaries from Africa Corps and the forces of the Bamako military junta, the FLA Military Command has decided to proceed with a strategic withdrawal of its forces from the locality of Kidal,” the FLA announced in a statement released on X, specifying that this is a “temporary operational measure” and that it “will continue its struggle with constancy and determination.”
