France, woman confronting demonstrators in Marseille attacked with makeshift flamethrower

(Adnkronos) – A woman protesting against acts of vandalism on the sidelines of a high school student demonstration yesterday in Marseille was attacked with a spray can transformed into a makeshift flamethrower. The incident occurred in the afternoon, near Place du 4-Septembre, in the VII arrondissement of the city, during a period of tension amidst the student demonstrations. In the images, authenticated by Bfmtv, the woman is seen peacefully opposing the acts of vandalism and moving a barrier. At that point, an individual dressed entirely in black and with their face covered pointed the flame in the direction of the victim, who was hit in the face. The woman filed a complaint today in Marseille; her condition is currently unknown.
