(Adnkronos) – The Putinist party United Russia has lost votes in the majority of polling stations opened in cities abroad where Russians who left Russia after the start of the war against Ukraine in February 2022 have taken refuge, the independent investigative website Agentsvo reports after analyzing the official data released by the Central Election Commission on the results of 27 polling stations abroad. In 18 of these 27 polling stations, the new party ‘New People’ won the majority of votes. In many of these polling stations, United Russia did not even come in second by number of votes received, but third, even after the Communist Party. The victory with the largest margin for ‘New People’ was recorded in Almaty, Barcelona, The Hague, Da Nang, Salzburg, Ljubljana, Prague and Tel Aviv, where it took more than 50 percent of the votes.
United Russia, the leading party throughout Russia, won in only nine of the 27 cities analyzed, including Baku, Bishkek, Riga, Istanbul, Sofia, and Hanoi. In Sydney, the two parties are neck and neck, with United Russia at 31.66 percent, and ‘New People’ at 31.35. Abroad, with the count still partial, relative to the results announced at two this afternoon, United Russia won a total of 39.58 percent of the vote abroad (against the national average of 58 percent), New People 24.49 percent (8 in the overall results), the communists 16.99 percent (14 at the national level).
