(Adnkronos) – The British prosecution announced today that it has formalized the first charges against a person called to answer for their alleged role in the 1994 Rwandan genocide, at the end of a complex seven-year investigation. Vincent Brown, 65, has been arrested and charged with complicity in genocide and six counts of aiding and abetting crimes against humanity, according to statements from the prosecution and London police. “He is accused of directing and inciting acts of murder and genocide perpetrated by others” against the Tutsis, said Frank Ferguson, head of the special crimes and counter-terrorism division of the Crown Prosecution Service, regarding the first charges of this kind ever brought in the United Kingdom.
