(Adnkronos) – Wine production in occupied Crimea’s companies plummeted by 24.7 percent in the first eight months of 2026, compared to the same period last year, while sparkling wine production dropped by 38 percent, due to the fuel crisis caused by Kyiv forces’ raids against refineries, depots, and supply chains, Kommersant reports, citing the alcohol market regulation service. In Russia, the production decline is 15 percent, with sparkling wines down 14.5 percent. Crimea produces 20 percent of the still wine distributed in Russia and 10 percent of sparkling wines. Production is expected to recover with the new harvest, which is anticipated to be abundant.
