(Adnkronos) – The father of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Roy Burnham, has died. Downing Street announced this, stating that the Prime Minister has canceled his engagements scheduled for today and tomorrow. Before taking over the leadership of the British government, the new Prime Minister had expressed a thought for his father, who was hospitalized in a nursing home. In an interview, he had stated that his parent, a retired engineer, was suffering from an advanced form of Alzheimer’s disease and therefore was not aware that his son would succeed Keir Starmer at Downing Street.
