(Adnkronos) – A British-Israeli rabbi, whose wife and two daughters were killed by Hamas members, has accused the British government of applying unfair criteria towards Israelis. Rabbi Leo Dee’s wife, Lucy, and daughters, Maia and Rina, were shot dead while driving through the Jordan Valley in April 2023. In an open letter addressed to the British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, ‘The Times’ reports, “he questioned why the government’s ‘moral outrage’ was not directed at the Palestinian Authority, which he claims ‘financially rewards’ terrorism.”
The rabbi, born in London and residing in the Efrat settlement in the West Bank, in Area C controlled by Israel, the British newspaper writes, refers to a system whereby the Palestinian leadership sends payments to citizens detained in Israel, sometimes dubbed ‘pay for slay’.”
“You – writes Dee addressing Burnham – insist that you are not against Israelis. Yet you are willing to target Jewish Israelis like me to inflict economic punishment on them. This is the hypocrisy I find so difficult to accept.”
