(Adnkronos) – Romanian prosecutors have indicted a British citizen, identified by local media as the controversial “manosphere” influencer Andrew Tate, for a series of crimes including child trafficking, money laundering, and sexual offenses. The Guardian reports this, adding that his brother Tristan has also been indicted for alleged complicity and for attempting to obstruct justice.
The Guardian’s report is based on a press release issued by Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (Diicot), which outlines a series of alleged offenses, including the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor transferred to Luton, UK, for online pornography. The text also includes accusations related to attempts to obstruct justice by trying to prevent another victim from reporting to the police.
The two men are not named in the press release, but authorities stated that the measure is part of an investigation into two British citizens, aged 38 and 39, members of the same family. National news agencies Agerpres, Antena3, and Digi24 have all identified them as the Tate brothers. As part of the investigation, prosecutors have also requested the confiscation of four of their luxury cars, valued at 825,000 euros. The brothers also face separate legal proceedings in the United States and the United Kingdom.
