(Adnkronos) – A cargo ship sank after a night collision with another vessel in the Sea of Marmara, southwest of Istanbul, 18 nautical miles from Silivri. This was announced by the Turkish Directorate General of Maritime Affairs. “Since the Tugberk İmamoglu ship did not respond to any calls and its crew’s mobile phones remained unreachable despite attempts by the Search and Rescue Operations Coordination Center, it is believed that the bulk carrier has sunk,” the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs stated on X. “Search and rescue operations were immediately launched.” At least 10 sailors are missing, Turkish authorities reported.
