(Adnkronos) – Serbia has activated the European Civil Protection Mechanism. This was announced by the European Commission in a statement released via social media, explaining that it had mobilized “within a few hours” of receiving the request for RescEU helicopters from the Czech Republic, Romania, and Slovakia, “as well as ground firefighting teams from Germany and Romania. We remain on alert and ready to support Serbia in the fight against these devastating fires,” the text concludes.
