(Adnkronos) – The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced that they shot down an Mq-9 Reaper drone in the skies of the southern province of Hormozgan. According to Iranian state television, the aircraft was intercepted and destroyed using a “new and advanced defense system” by the Pasdaran.
The Mq-9 Reaper, a US drone used for years in the region for surveillance and bombing missions, has also been used intensively since the war broke out last February. According to Tehran, the United States has lost dozens of Mq-9s since the start of the conflict.
