(Adnkronos) – German police have arrested two alleged members of the Islamic State (Isis) terrorist organization in eastern Germany and brought them before a judge, authorities confirmed today.
The police operation also involved searching the apartments of the two Iraqi citizens in Dresden and in the town of Königstein, both in the state of Saxony, according to reports from the Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office for the Fight against Extremism.
The two suspects, aged 33 and 27, are accused of belonging to a foreign terrorist organization. They are accused of having fought in various Isis units from February 2016 to May 2017 and from April 2016 to February 2017, respectively. They allegedly received a monthly salary for their services. During the searches, mobile phones, a laptop, and identity documents were seized.
