Iran: Kuwait orders closure of Iranian school

6 Agosto 2026

(Adnkronos) – In Kuwait, authorities have ordered the closure of an Iranian school. The Minister of Education, Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, has given “instructions for the revocation of permits granted to the Iranian private school in Kuwait and for the closure” of the institution, writes the Kuwait Times.

“The decision is part of the work to implement the law regulating private education” and was taken based on regulations to “protect public interest and ensure order in the education process,” reads a ministry directive reported by the newspaper. Parents of the institution’s students have been invited to enroll their children in other schools.

The news comes in the context of regional tensions. Following the start of military operations by the US and Israel against Iran at the end of last February, Tehran’s ‘response’ has targeted objectives in Gulf countries, including Kuwait.
