(Adnkronos) – Hundreds of firefighters are engaged in the southeastern part of the Netherlands to combat a forest fire that spread overnight to cover 100 hectares of territory. The fire broke out around noon yesterday in a nature reserve near the village of Oostrum, in the province of Limburg, near the German border. At least two firefighting helicopters are involved in the operations, numerous local roads have been blocked, and a nearby campsite has been evacuated. The next few hours will be particularly tense due to strong winds, a regional security spokesperson told the ANP news agency.
