Migrants, 157 rescued in the Channel after their boat caught fire

(Adnkronos) – French and British ships rescued 157 migrants after their boat caught fire during an attempt to cross the Channel. Local authorities told Afp. “A small boat caught fire at the border of French and British waters, forcing its occupants to jump into the water” this morning, detailed the prefecture of the Pas-de-Calais department, which specified that “at the moment” no victims have been reported. This is one of the main sea rescue operations since the beginning of Channel crossings aboard precarious boats in 2018.
