(Adnkronos) – Donald Trump will be in California tomorrow for a fundraiser, the first stop on a two-day West Coast tour that will take him to Nevada on Wednesday, a state traditionally oriented towards Democrats but where the tycoon secured a key victory in the 2024 presidential election. The American president will speak at a Republican National Committee dinner at the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles, then travel to Las Vegas, where he will deliver a speech on the economy at the Red Rock Casino. According to the New York Post, the visit will be an opportunity to claim the results of his administration regarding taxes, security, and crime fighting, but Trump is also expected to attack California’s Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom, who is very popular among Democratic voters and considered a possible candidate for the 2028 presidential election.
According to the White House, the president “will visit California to celebrate his successes for the residents of the Golden State, despite the failure of Democratic leadership: the largest tax cut ever for the middle class, the most secure border in American history, and a drastic drop in crime,” said spokeswoman Olivia Wales. The president is also expected to promote the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, renamed by Republicans as the Working Families Tax Cut Act. In Nevada, Trump will instead focus his message on the measure that allows service industry workers to deduct up to $25,000 in qualified tips per year from their taxes, for the period between 2025 and 2028. According to data released by the White House, average tax refunds have increased in both California and Nevada, while the administration also claims a decrease in crime and international migration to California.
