Japan, government updates earthquake victim count to 28

(Adnkronos) – The death toll from the violent earthquake that struck Japan has risen to 28, the government announced in an update released today, two days after the 7.1 magnitude tremor. 

“The death toll is currently 28 people, including those whose deaths are still under investigation to verify their connection to the earthquake,” government spokesman Minoru Kihara told reporters.
