(Adnkronos) – 650 people have been evacuated due to a fire that developed late Wednesday afternoon in France, in Brignoles, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Aerial means used to fight the fire continued operations until nightfall, and their efforts – combined with the mobilization of ground teams and the weakening of the wind – helped slow the advance of the flames. The Var prefecture announced this, explaining that the fire, still active, has burned about 100 hectares of land. During the operations, one firefighter suffered heatstroke and another was injured after a fall. The latter was transported to Brignoles hospital. In detail, the 250 firefighters deployed, equipped with 85 vehicles, are supported by 3 Canadair aircraft, 7 firefighting helicopters, and 2 Dash aircraft.
