(Adnkronos) – The mayor of Seattle, Katie Wilson, announced the arrest of a suspect in the shooting that killed two people and injured 4 in the city in the northwestern United States, from gunfire that also caused at least four injuries. Wilson had previously reported two suspects detained. “I want to thank the Seattle police officers who responded to the scene and took two suspects into custody,” she said in a statement.
Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg said the facility admitted four patients: a child, a 39-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man, and another woman whose age is unknown and who was sent to the operating room. A Seattle Times reporter said he heard muffled noises and then what sounded like very rapid gunfire, while the city was hosting its “Bite of Seattle” festival, which celebrates local businesses and culinary activities.
