(Adnkronos) – The Sudanese army has regained control of an important highway connecting the capital Khartoum with the strategic city of El-Obeid, which is a logistical hub of great importance in Central Sudan, two military sources told AFP today.
The advance pushed the rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) westward, away from the North Kordofan State capital they had tried to encircle, and “opens a second supply route for El-Obeid and beyond,” said one of the sources, both of whom requested anonymity, not being authorized to speak to the media.
