(Adnkronos) – There has been no progress yet in talks between the Indian government and the student movement of the “cockroaches” regarding the protesters’ demand for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, according to statements from both sides. “We have communicated in very clear terms that nothing other than the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan or his removal from the Cabinet would be acceptable,” Ashutosh Ranka, spokesperson for the youth movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical name referring to the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and comments by an Indian Supreme Court judge who had called unemployed Indian youth “cockroaches,” told the press. Talks between the two sides will resume tomorrow, government Health Minister JP Nadda told reporters. Meanwhile, CJP supporters continue their peaceful vigil in the Jantar Mantar area, in the center of the capital.
