Seven & i, PayPay to Integrate Customer IDs

Tokyo, July 23 (Jiji Press)–Japanese retail giant Seven & i Holdings Co. and smartphone payment firm PayPay Corp. are considering integrating their customer identification data, it was learned Thursday. Seven & i’s 7iD system is expected to be integrated into the PayPay ID system. The timing of the integration and other details have not been decided. The 7iD system is a common membership platform across the Seven & i group, with about 39 million registered members. Meanwhile, PayPay has more than 74 million registered users. PayPay and mobile phone carrier SoftBank Corp., both affiliates of SoftBank Group Corp., are considering investing several hundred billion yen in Seven & i.
