(Adnkronos) – Fincantieri has signed a contract with Qatar’s navy for the operational management of a training and simulation centre (TSC) delivered by the Italian shipbuilder and following the successful delivery of seven naval vessels and related support capabilities, marking a further step in a longstanding partnership with QENF, a statement said on Tuesday.
The TSC is a key plank of QENF’s training infrastructure and is designed to support the integrated training of naval personnel through advanced simulation systems, the statement said.
The facility allows officers, non-commissioned officers and sailors to train in “realistic and complex tactical scenarios, contributing to the development and maintenance of operational readiness,” the statement continued.
The three-year accord with Fincantieri aims to support the QENF in the operational training of its crews through advanced simulation activities, helping maintain high levels of readiness and operational effectiveness, according to the statement.
The service will be delivered by a highly qualified team composed primarily of former military personnel with extensive experience in naval operations, platform management, operational procedures and key maritime doctrines, said the statement.
Fincantieri’s staff will ensure the full operability of the TSC while supporting QENF personnel through a progressive knowledge-transfer programme designed to enable Qatar’s navy to achieve increasing autonomy in managing the system.
The contract was signed by Fincantieri Naval Vessels Division VP Sales, Mauro Manzini and QENF’s chief of logistics, the statement noted.
