(Adnkronos) – Italy’s rightwing prime minister Giorgia Meloni has sent a congratulatory message to Labour Party leader Andy Burnham who on Monday became UK premier, vowing to make the biggest changes in British politics for 40 years. He succeeds Keir Starmer, who quit amid plunging popularity ratings.
“Congratulations and best wishes for a successful tenure to the new prime minister @andyburnham,” Meloni wrote on X.
“Italy and the United Kingdom are bound by a deep friendship and a collaboration that, over the years, has grown ever stronger, also thanks to our joint work on key dossiers,” Meloni underlined
