(Adnkronos) – Laura Egoli is Italy’s new envoy to European Union candidate country Montenegro, the foreign ministry wrote Monday on X, wishing the career diplomat well in her new posting.
“Congratulations to @LauraEgoli, new ambassador of Italy to Montenegro,” read the post.
“Representing Italy during such an important momement in Montenegro’s history is a privilege and a responsibility that I embrace with enthusiasm,” Egoli wrote in an accompanying message.
“We will work to further strengthen the deep bonds of friendship that conect us , as we journey together through this stage of the country’s European path,” the message continued.
The current frontrunner among Western Balkan candidates, Montenegro plans to join the EU as its 28th member state by 2028.
