(Adnkronos) – This morning on the island of Krk (Veglia), in Croatia, a woman was struck by lightning during a thunderstorm that affected some areas of the Kvarner. According to reports from the Croatian agency Hina, the woman was transported to the Clinical Hospital Center in Rijeka and is in intensive care, as confirmed by the health facility.
The incident occurred around 7:10 AM on Baška beach. The woman was struck by lightning while carrying an umbrella; a lifeguard provided first aid, after which she was transported by helicopter to the Clinical Hospital Center in Rijeka. According to unofficial information, the woman is of Czech nationality.
