(Adnkronos) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed to have killed a Hamas commander who played a central role in the kidnapping of Israeli citizens. This is Anas Mahmoud Ahmed Hamdan, considered by the IDF and Shin Bet to be “directly involved in the detention of Israeli hostages in the hands of Hamas and responsible for documenting the hostages during release ceremonies”.
The IDF and Shin Bet believe that Hamdan also led propaganda activities for Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade and was one of the main collaborators of Mohammed Deif, the leader of the group’s military wing assassinated in 2024.
