Italy: Foreign ministry opens new access point for its medical clinic[Sottotitolo]

(Adnkronos) – The foreign ministry has inaugurated a new entrance to a health clinic accessible to all those who work at the ministry, which it is hoped will become “increasingly efficient” and will open to members of the public as well, foreign minister Antonio Tajani said on Friday.

“For us at the ministry, having an increasingly efficient health clinic means being able to provide certainty to all the staff who work here,” said Tajani.

International vaccinations will be administered at the clinic, saving ministry staff time, Tajani noted.

“Many of us – whether we work in foreign affairs, international trade, or international cooperation – travel frequently, and being able to get vaccinated here means saving perhaps half a day by not having to go elsewhere for the shot. It means being able to come to work and, during a brief break, receive treatment or see a doctor without having to take days off or leave the workplace,” Tajani said.

The foreign ministry has a nursery for staff members’ children, and thanks to an agreement with Rome’s Bambin Gesu pediatric hospital and the Gemelli Policlinic “many additional services” are now on offer, also for paramilitary Carabinieri police and tax police based at the ministry, Tajani said.

It is “important” that the clinic “is increasingly accessible to the public,” Tajani underlined.

“Because having a modern, efficient clinic with new equipment in a pleasant environment is important in this regard as well,” he said.

“It means being able to tell the people of Rome, and especially those living in the areas closest to the ministry ‘here is a healthcare facility that can provide you with concrete solutions.”

There is an ever-growing need for healthcare in Italy, a country with an ageing population, Tajani pointed out.

“Heathcare is the issue closest to the hearts of Italian citizens,” he concluded.
