(Adnkronos) – Hezbollah speaks of “unfounded” reports after post-Assad Syria reported the seizure of weapons destined for the Lebanese Shiite movement along the border between the Arab country and Iraq. Hezbollah, in a statement relayed by al-Manar (a Lebanese TV affiliated with the group), states that “from time to time, claims about Hezbollah’s presence in Syrian territory re-emerge” and adds that “the party has always denied them, specifying that they are completely false”
Thus, the “denial” of what Hezbollah considers “unfounded accusations” was reiterated. The Party of God, historically supported by Tehran and an ally of Assad’s Syria, speaks of “claims and accusations that are nothing more than invented, unfounded narratives, with the aim of harming Hezbollah,” and of news “serving” the objectives of the US and Israel “in the region.”
