(Adnkronos) – The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office will not appeal to the Court of Cassation against the Court of Appeal’s ruling that definitively convicted Marine Le Pen and some officials of the Rassemblement National (RN) for misappropriation of public funds. This was stated in a prosecutor’s press release relaunched by Bfmtv. “Following a thorough examination of the judgment issued on July 7 by the Paris Court of Appeal in the so-called ‘parliamentary assistants of the Rassemblement National’ case, the Prosecutor’s Office has decided not to appeal to the Court of Cassation against this decision,” the note states.

On the very day of her conviction to three years in prison, one of which under house arrest with an electronic bracelet, 15 months of disqualification from public office, and a fine of 100,000 euros, Le Pen announced that she would appeal to the Court of Cassation. The date has not yet been set.
