(Adnkronos) – North Korean Premier Pak Thae Song expressed hope for a further strengthening of bilateral relations with China, at the end of his three-day visit to Beijing, during which he participated in the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the friendship treaty between the two countries. Upon his return home, Pak thanked Chinese Premier Li Qiang for the “sincere hospitality” received and declared his willingness to “work with Chinese comrades to further expand and develop the traditional ties that unite the two countries, as required by the new era”.
During his stay in China, the North Korean premier also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other top officials of the government and the Chinese Communist Party. Pak took part in the ceremony for the anniversary of the treaty signed in 1961, which includes a mutual defense clause in case of aggression against one of the two countries.
