(Adnkronos) – Premier Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday underscored Italy’s unwavering support for Ukraine and achieving a “just and lasting peace” during talks with the war-ravaged country’s president Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the talks, held on the sidelines of a Nato summit in Ankara,”Italy’s firm commitment to stand with Ukraine and to a path leading to a just and lasting peace was reaffirmed,” Meloni’s office said in a statement.
“The Prime minister also confirmed that Italy will continue to provide assistance to the Ukrainian people, with a particular focus on efforts to strengthen the resilience of energy infrastructure, which has been severely damaged by Russian attacks,” the statement concluded.
