(Adnkronos) – There are also more than 800,000 books among the ‘victims’ of the massive Russian attack against Kyiv denounced by Ukrainian authorities, which left at least 21 dead. Last night’s Russian attack on Kyiv destroyed Denka Logistics’ central warehouse and also approximately 800,000 books from the Ukrainian publishing house BookChef. The latter provided its report on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.
“During last night’s Russian attack, the central warehouse of our logistics partner, Denka Logistic, where our books were stored, was destroyed. Most of the copies, about 800,000, were lost,” they reported, emphasizing that it represents “years of work by a large number of people.”
BookChef specifies that there are no casualties among employees. “Currently, we are unable to accept, process, and ship orders as usual. This could cause difficulties and delays even for new books,” specifies CEO Oleksandr Kirpichov, asking for “patience” and “understanding” after a night that “we know how difficult it was for everyone.” “We will continue our work: publishing new books, investing in the development of Ukrainian publishing, and supporting the economy,” they assure, reminding that “the best way” to provide support at this time is to “buy our books.”
