Sagamihara, Kanagawa Pref., June 11 (Jiji Press)–The body of a 17-year-old high school girl was found in the city of Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo, on Thursday, and local police arrested a male acquaintance, 19, later in the day. Around 2:15 a.m., an emergency call was made to a fire department reporting that a minor girl was lying on a riverbank in the city in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest. The girl was taken to a hospital and confirmed dead there. The girl, from the Kanagawa city of Zama, adjacent to Sagamihara, went out Wednesday afternoon, telling her mother that she would see an acquaintance, but she did not return home, according to investigation sources.
