(Adnkronos) – A Walt Disney Company manager, Jugal Daterao, has been sentenced by a Moscow region court to two years and six months in prison for drug-related offenses. The Russian news agency Tass reported this, explaining that in January, Daterao, 46, was found in possession of “gummy candies containing narcotics” during a customs check at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport. He had arrived on a flight from Qatar.
In court, the man defended himself by stating that the seized items are actually medications prescribed by his doctor in the United States after brain surgery. The Walt Disney Company suspended all its commercial operations in Russia in March 2022 following the invasion of Ukraine.
