Epstein case, police investigate Andrew ‘thoroughly’

22 Maggio 2026

(Adnkronos) – Police investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have asked to be contacted by witnesses or anyone with information about alleged sexual abuse, corruption, fraud, or disclosure of confidential information concerning the King’s brother. At the same time, Thames Valley Police have pledged to rigorously investigate the allegations against the former prince. According to documents released by the US Department of Justice, the former prince also allegedly passed confidential information to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein when he was a British trade envoy. Andrew has denied all charges.

Thames Valley Police stated that they are examining “a range of aspects of alleged misconduct” following the publication by the US Department of Justice of documents relating to the pedophile Epstein, and have spoken with “numerous” witnesses. In addition to the misconduct allegations, police said they are investigating reports that a woman was taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 “for sexual purposes”. In February, police had stated they were aware of such reports and were evaluating the information.

Investigators have contacted the woman’s lawyers and stated that the case will be “taken seriously and handled with care” should she decide to come forward. “We recognise how difficult it can be to talk about experiences of this nature, and any contact with the police will be based on her willingness, when and if she feels ready and able to do so,” the police stated in their release, appealing to potential witnesses. Thames Valley Police Deputy Chief Constable, Oliver Wright, said the investigation would be “complex” as investigators are examining a “significant amount of information”. “We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into all reasonable lines of inquiry, wherever they may lead,” Wright said. “We urge anyone with information to contact us.”
