(Adnkronos) – A high-ranking diplomat, James Paul Roscoe, British Deputy Ambassador to the United States, has suddenly left his post without explanation. SkyNews reported this. Since 2022, Roscoe held the position of deputy head of mission at the British embassy and was initially tipped as the favourite to succeed Lord Mandelson – who was removed from his post after his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier convicted of sex offenses, emerged – in the role of ambassador. However, the position was later assigned to Sir Christian Turner. Roscoe played a key role in Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom last September.
