(Adnkronos) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has expressed his “support” in Parliament for former socialist Prime Minister José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, who is on trial for influence peddling as part of an investigation into the bailout of a small airline in 2021.
“All my support to Prime Minister Zapatero,” Sanchez declared in parliament, calling for “respect for the presumption of innocence.” Zapatero has denied the accusations of influence peddling against him.
