(Adnkronos) – No date will be set for Sir Keir Starmer’s resignation. This was stated by British Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, speaking to SkyNews. “I want to be very clear. Keir Starmer remains the most tenacious person I know. I spoke to him twice yesterday. He has great strength of character and solid experience. There will be no date for his resignation. What matters is to move forward with the government’s work. I am absolutely certain of this.”
“There is no race at the moment,” he added, alluding to a leadership challenge. What matters is his determination” to achieve the results promised to “the British people and to speed things up in the coming months. There is a lot to do.”
Pressed on the fact that Starmer has not set a date for his resignation, despite a request from 92 Labour MPs, Lammy reiterated that “there will be no date for his resignation.”
