(Adnkronos) – Several gunshots were fired inside the Philippine Senate, where a senator wanted by the International Criminal Court sought refuge. The AFP reported this, stating that the sound of at least five shots forced journalists to flee for cover, just minutes after armed soldiers had ascended the building’s entrance stairs. Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, former head of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs, has been barricaded inside the building since yesterday to resist arrest and counter extradition to the Netherlands to face trial on charges of crimes against humanity.
