Poland receives 44 billion from the EU to strengthen defense

(Adnkronos) – Poland is the first country to have signed, today, an agreement with the European Commission to finance the modernization of its armed forces and the arms industry, receiving a loan of almost 44 billion euros under the Safe program, of which the country is the main beneficiary. 

“This is a crucial moment in the history of both Poland and the European Union,” declared Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the signing ceremony.
