(Adnkronos) – Security increasingly strengthened around the center of Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso, after last Saturday’s attacks in neighboring Mali. This was reported by Radio France Internationale, which collected testimonies from the city’s inhabitants where measures – they say – have been intensified around the presidency, in the Koulouba district and in the area of Ouagadougou International Airport.
Since Saturday, Rfi reports, armored vehicles are present at strategic points around the presidential palace. And, in general, people in the city speak of intensified controls. “The center of Ouagadougou, already cordoned off, has become a bunker,” said an official quoted by Rfi describing the situation in the city. The country has been led since 2022 by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who seized power in 2022 with a coup d’état.
