(Adnkronos) – New prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, mediated by the United Arab Emirates. A total of 386 were released, equally divided between the two sides (193 for each country). Satisfaction was expressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who called it “important that exchanges are happening and that our people are returning home.” Zelensky also thanked “everyone who works to make these exchanges possible.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the released military personnel have been transferred to Belarus, where they are receiving medical and psychological assistance, confirming the mediation role played by the United Arab Emirates together with the United States.
Abu Dhabi’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for the cooperation of Moscow and Kyiv, emphasizing that the operation reflects confidence in the mediation role played by the Gulf country. This is the fourth exchange since the beginning of the year, bringing the total number of prisoners released through the mediation of the Emirates to 6,691.
