(Adnkronos) – Foreign undersecretary Maria Tripodi on Friday represented foreign minister Antonio Tajani an international meeting focused on battling terrorism and crime syndicates in the Balkans, as part of the Aqaba Process launched by Jordan’s King Abdullah in 2015.
“Undersecretary @tripodimaria took part in the opening session of the ministerial meeting of the Aqaba Process in Athens, on behalf of Minister @Antonio_Tajani,” the foreign ministry wrote on X.
“At the center of the meeting: the fight against terrorism and organised crime in the Balkans,” the post continued.
The Aqaba process aims to bolster security, intelligence, and military cooperation against terrorism. Recent sessions have focused on regional stability, including Syria’s transition, Gaza, and West Africa.
