Cuba, second European convoy promoted by Aicec arrived with tons of aid

22 Aprile 2026

(Adnkronos) – The second European Convoy to Cuba, promoted by Aicec – Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba – as part of the “Let Cuba Breathe” campaign, has arrived in Cuba. After departing yesterday from Milan, Rome, and Madrid, the European delegation reached the island with tons of health, food, and energy aid destined for the Cuban population. Mission participants transported over 80 boxes of medicines and sanitary materials, which will soon be distributed in hospitals. In parallel, the arrival by container of medical equipment and essential goods collected in recent months thanks to the solidarity network coordinated by Aicec continues.

The delegation will now head to the eastern provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, and Granma, among the areas most affected by Hurricane Melissa in October 2025 and still in great difficulty. Peripheral hospitals, health centers, and schools will be visited here, with the aim of directly delivering aid and installing some of the equipment sent. Among the materials already arrived are strategically important health devices – including pulmonary ventilators, anesthesia machines, hospital beds, and diagnostic instruments – as well as essential food supplies for hospital facilities, such as powdered milk for infants and high-protein foods.

In addition to delivering aid, the Convoy intends to continue drawing attention to the conditions of the Cuban population and the effects of the economic blockade on the island. With this new arrival, Aicec reiterates its commitment to concretely supporting the Cuban people, strengthening a European network of civil cooperation that continues to mobilize so that Cuba is not left alone, according to a note.
